Arizona Cardinals

Two more candidates for the Cardinals’ head-coaching job became available for interviews after their teams lost in the playoffs over the weekend.

Steelers offensive line coach Mike Munchak and Falcons special teams coordinator Keith Armstrong are free to travel to Arizona for interviews if the Cardinals ask.

Cardinals defensive coordinator James Bettcher and Panthers defensive coordinator Steve Wilks also are available for second interviews.

Five of the nine candidates interviewed by the Cardinals remain in the playoffs and won’t be available for interviews until after the conference championship games next weekend.

Those include Vikings offensive coordinator Pat Shurmur, Eagles defensive coordinator Jim Schwartz, Eagles quarterback coach John DeFilippo, Patriots defensive coordinator Matt Patricia and Patriots linebackers coach Brian Flores.

Patricia reportedly is expected to be hired by the Lions, while Patriots offensive coordinator Josh McDaniels is reportedly the favorite to become the Colts coach.

The Cardinals did not interview McDaniels.

It’s not clear if there is a favorite for the Cardinals job, or if one will emerge this week.

An NFL assistant cannot be hired as a head coach until his season is over, although informal agreements have been made in the past. Last year, the 49ers waited on Kyle Shanahan, who was the Falcons offensive coordinator.

Indianapolis Colts

The Indianapolis Colts will host the Pittsburgh Steelers in Week 10 in their final game before the bye week. The game time is set for 1:00 p.m. ET on Sunday, Nov. 12, at Lucas Oil Stadium.

The contest will mark the 24th all-time regular season meeting between the teams, with Pittsburgh leading the series, 17-6.

Last week, the Colts faced the Texans in Houston and were victorious, 20-14.

Indianapolis jumped out to an early 10-0 lead after quarterback Jacoby Brissett threw a 45-yard touchdown pass to wide receiver T.Y. Hilton (five receptions for 175 yards and two touchdowns) and kicker Adam Vinatieri converted a field goal.

Houston scored their first points of the game on a fumble return for a touchdown, and the Colts entered halftime with a 10-7 lead.

At the end of the third quarter Brissett and Hilton connected again for an 80-yard touchdown. Vinatieri then made a 53 yard field goal to give Indianapolis a 20-7 advantage in the fourth quarter.

The Texans tallied a touchdown with 6:11 left in regulation. Houston then orchestrated a drive to the Colts’ seven-yard line. On fourth-andseven with two seconds left, outside linebacker Jabaal Sheard strip-sacked Houston quarterback Tom Savage and fellow outside linebacker Barkevious Mingo recovered the ball to seal the win.
